Why can't I suspend my service and why am I being charged?

Hi -

I have a Mobile Hotspot Device that I use very infrequently when I have to travel and there is no other service available.  I was suspending the device at Verizon's website for 90 days at a time using the reason "Other" because the device was not lost/stolen and I'm not in the military.  This allowed me to suspend service without being billed for the device when I wasn't using it.

Now I am being charged $50 every month and I no longer have the online option of "other" to suspend it.

"Other" is shaded-out and non-clickable as an action.

I called Verizon and was told that I am subject to the following terms and conditions:

·  If you select Other without billing, your service will automatically resume after 90 days, or when you reach a maximum of 180 days suspended without billing in any rolling 12-month period."

I asked Verizon specifically what this meant and am sure the girl I talked to didn't understand it because she clumsily faked her way through an explanation.

Consequently, I am still confused.

I had activated the device, with billing, for 1 week in August, so I'm not sure how this rule is being applied to me.

Can anybody explain what the terms and conditions I quoted above specifically mean and how I would be able to determine for myself when I'll be eligible to suspend my service again without billing?

It means that when you suspend without billing using "other" it'll reconnect itself after 90 days automatically. It also means you cannot have it suspended for more than 180 days in a rolling 12 month period. In other words, you can't keep suspending every 90 days anymore.
