Unfortunately, and most likely, yes. I imagine only Verizon could best tell you (some get to keep it, but I think it's more for military, etc), but short answer, and not the answer I'm sure you'd want to hear, is yup, you'll lose it.
Hi there DWF1!
I love discounts and I know every penny counts! The re-evaluation of your employee discount depends on the details your employer setup. Some employers do continue to offer discounts for their retired employees.
I would recommend reaching out to your employer (perhaps the Human Resource department) and get more information.
If they didn't setup discounts for retired employees, it is possible the discount may no longer be available.

Actually, we did not lose our employee discount when my husband retired. Verizon did not know and referred me back to my husband's employer who told us the discount is a life time benefit for us. They also sent a letter to us to submit to Verizon verifying that we were still able to use the discount. It's really up to the individual's former employer, not Verizon. I hope this helps.
I was told I would lose my employee discount as well.......So unfair! And trying to reach someone from Verizon is impossible! Now that I'm on a fixed income I need the discount more that before! So frustrating!
