Since I started using the S4, it seems like I have been using more data. The only thing different I am aware of is that I leave the Wi-Fi mobile network location service on all the time. I do this because it keeps the local weather info current. Does anyone know if this uses data and how much?

I have an older galaxy phone and have the ability of turning on/off wi-fi and data. If I have data yurned off which I always do, all my Apps, weather updates are done using wi-fi. If data is also turned on, the phone will choose wifi to update first. The only time I have data on is when I'm on the road and no wi-fi service is available.

This won't work for me because I have no Wi-Fi available most of the time.

Your phone updates itself by using 3g/4g network or Wi-fi. If you dont have Wi-fi most of the time then your phone uses data over the Verizon network. I'm not sure what Wifi mobile network location service is but if it uses GPS for location then that will use data if not wi-fi is available.
