Is there a way to get Verizon to respect my privacy regarding the logs of phone numbers that they are handing over to the NSA? Is the only alternative to switch carriers? To me, it is almost worth paying out of my contract early if they are just going to give away my private information without my consent. This infuriates me!
I called CS today and they read me their canned response. They actually know nothing but the CS did hear about this on the news radio but could not make further comment.
Does anyone know will this breach will void our contract? I am not a lawyer so I don't know. But I know that I'm not too thrilled that the government could see who I call. This is a huge invasion of my personal privacy and I feel violated.
Am I the only one who really doesn't care about this? I read the article, all the court order is giving the NSA is the phone numbers I'm calling, times, etc. It's not giving them the content of my call. It's not letting them listening in on my conversations. You realize they can do this with any carrier, it's not just Verizon. They just started with Verizon is all. If you are complaining and having a true fit with it, it makes me question if you are doing something wrong!
I'm not so who cares! If they want my records, let them have it.
This has nothing to do with me doing anything illegal. IM NOT. It has to do with privacy. Something I value as an American, and something you obviously dont. Be careful when you accuse someone of doing something illegal,

Privacy? We lost privacy the minute terrorists came in the US and lived here among us and started terrorizing us. I'd rather be safe. I care about my privacy. Sure I do. I'm not stupid. But the fact that it was obtained legally means there is nothing we can do about it. Cancel your service, sure. Go to another carrier, sure. So what's stopping them from getting a court order for those services.
The only way to avoid this completely, is no phones, period. No cell phones, no house phones, no computer, etc. Why should I care what they do as long as it doesn't affect my life?
