Talk and Data Concurrently

I would like to know if it is possible to do voice and data at the same time. I heard that this is possible with 4G/4G LTE/Wifi, but not possible with 3G. Can anyone confirm this?

Every current VzW Phone can do simultaneous voice and data over wifi, every 4g VzW phone *except* the iPhone5 can do it over 4g LTE, only the HTC Thunderbolt had the (undocumented) ability to do simultaneous voice and data over VzW 3g.

It also depends on the phone if you can can talk and use data at the same time.

Most 4G phones will allow you talk and data over 4G or wifi.

The iPhone 5 doesn't allow talk and data at the same time since the radio hardware isn't configured that way.

There were a few 4G phones with a radio configuration to allow talk and data over 3G along with the 4G LTE and wifi data. The HTC Thunderbolt was one of those devices.

It can be done on AT&T on 3G I believe they are the only carrier that has that capability.

AT&T and T-Mobile can both do it over 3g, as they use GSM, where it's no big deal due to how UMTS/HSPA technologies work.

Sprint, Verizon, and other CDMA providers cannot do it over 3g EVDO Rev. 0 or Rev. A. EVDO Rev. B supports this feature, but as mentioned earlier, only the HTC Thunderbolt has this functionality of any VzW phone.

I thought maybe the HTC Rezound had a similar radio configuration as the Tbolt, but I could be wrong.
