I bought my daughter an Iphone 2 days ago and a so called friend stole it. Can I track it without a tracking App? She didn't download one or sign up for Icloud, I forgot and didn't think someone would do this to her. I am desperate to get this phone back. We upgraded and got it free so I don't see paying a $99 deductible. VERY DISCOURAGED AND SICK!!! PLEASE HELP ME FIND THIS PHONE. I already have print out of everyone HE has called and he used the crap out of her Internet. Left it on until I found out about the Internet usage and had to temporarily suspend it.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I'd report it as stolen to both Verizon and to the local Police

doesn't she know where the person lives?
without suspending service you could have located it with plan b.
plan b, if phone's on you'll see where.

Go to the police they can tell by pings where the phone was but only if you don't suspend it iPhone track would work but bit when its suspended. I would pay the deductable If you can't go to the friend as well as mark it stolen so he can't sell it and the buyer can't use it.

Verizon refuses to utilize the technology to which they currently have access because it is its policy. I think that is the biggest crock of you-know-what and I have yet to be given a reasonable explanation as to what is so prohibitive about using it for stolen phones when they regularly use it when issued a subpoena to do so by the police (such as a missing person).
I will not let this rest until I get an answer that makes sense - WAKE UP VERIZON WIRELESS!!! People are getting extremely frustrated and your policy is not customer-friendly AT ALL!!!
