Sounds like a little bad luck with phones! I'm so glad you found your older phone. I have a few questions to see if we can get you up and running!
When you say you bought a new phone, was that as an upgrade or did you file a claim with Asurion(insurance)?
The reason I ask is if it was an insurance claim, technically that phone belongs to Asurion.
If you just upgraded or bought the phone without any involvement from Asurion you should be able to!
Simply log into vzw.com and choose "Activate Phone" towards the bottom and follow the prompts! You may also dial *228-call and choose option 1 and enter your information.
