Wife and I both have the iPhone4--new as of about 6 weeks ago. We have never been able to receive non-iPhone text messages. Seems that iMessage works OK. Upgrading to IOS 6 did not help; neither did soft reset, factory reset, and reseting every option within the message menu on the iPhone. I have also tried the *228 option 1 and option 2, with no luck. I tried sending a text to myself on from this web site only to be told that I have an invalid address. Any other ideas?
My goodness Hollyed. I want you to enjoy the full use of those new iPhones. It certainly sounds like you've checked everything from the hardware point of view. You mentioned the web site told you that you had an invalid address. Normally, if you go to www.vtext.com and send a text message, you'll get an error if the messages have been blocked, which makes me think you may have a messaging block on one or both of your lines. Please log into www.vzw.com/spamcontrols as the Account Owner. Then, select "Manage Service Blocks" to remove any messaging blocks causing you trouble for each of your lines.
Keep me posted if you need further assistance.

I want to confirm if you have these iPhone 4S devices or if you're having trouble contacting users with this device? Has the same spam control previously mentioned been reviewed? If you're able to provide us with more details we'll be able to get this fixed for you too.

What is the resolution for this problem? My daughter has an IPhone 4S running verizon. Prior to the upgrade to iOS 6.1.1 update, sending text message to non-iPhone users WORKED. Afterwards, it didn't. What gives?
Settings SMS/MMS Messaging is ON
- MMS Messaging ON
- Group Messaging ON
Send as SMS ON
She did a RESET of Network Settings and still had the problem?
Hi there teamdor!
Making sure your daughter stays in the loop with messaging is of paramount importance to us. So, let's fix it!
First of all, I'm terribly sorry with these recent complications after the update but kudos for everything you've done thus far. May I ask if you've been able to reprogram your phone yet with *228, option 2, and then restarting after completion? That will help resync it with our network. Additionally, is she able to call without any problems? After all, messaging non-iPhone users goes over the voice network. Finally, she may wish to process a hard reset. As long as she backs up important information via iTunes first, she may find help doing this http://vz.to/uBfksa . Please let me know how this works so we can take it from there. Regardless, we'll fix everything.
