I'm glad to read you're using the home phone connect! Because this runs on a wireless line, it will not show the actual name of the callers like a landline. It works the same as a cell phone displaying the number only. Are you programming the numbers into the handsets connected to the home phone connect?

The numbers of all frequent callers are programmed into the handsets and
are displayed when calls come in from my Vonage line, but not displayed
when calls come in from the Verizon line.

I've been trying to get displayed both the phone number and name of caller on my new Home Connect system. After messing around with changes online for several weeks, I finally got a clear answer from a Verizon tech. Home Connect does not display names of callers, only phone numbers.
This, of course, is not good and I would not have purchased this system had I known of this important limitation. Because I've had the system beyond the 14 day return policy, I will have to cough up $170 to get out of the contract.
I'm use to having technology a little overhyped, but this borders on deceptive advertising. Verizon should be clear that their system does not offer "caller ID" in the manner most people expect. I've been a big fan of Verizon, but this latest experience has taken the bloom off that rose. Caveat emptor.
In the future when I am shopping for phones, I will make sure to look for "caller ID in the manner you would expect" rather than just "caller ID" which Home Phone Connect provides.
If names are important, you can program the names into the speed dial locations on your handset and then the name will pop up when "those" numbers call you.
I have Home Phone Connect.
