Ok I haven't had prepaid in years but if you log into your account and you see change your device then I would think that would switch devices just like on post paid if I want to activate a new phone on my line I would do that if I didn't want to call 228 to activate the new phone. Hopefully someone will know or call them and ask to make sure. Mary
If you call Verizon Prepaid Customer Service at 1-888-294-6804 they can transfer your number over to the new phone. Be sure to back up or copy your contact info because once your number is transfered you will love everything on the phone. If you have any money left on the old prepaid cell be sure to tell the customer service Rep so they can transfer that amount over to the new device.
