I just upgraded my phone to a 4Glte (LG Lucid). I previously had a 3G unlimited data plan. I have been multiple times (like Downtown Houston) where I should have been receiving a 4G signal, but I have yet to see it. Do you know why? Do I still have somehow a 3G plan with a 4G phone? When I upgraded, it gave me the option to keep my unlimited data plan. Of course I chose to keep it. Does this mean I stayed on 3G?
Have you checked your mobile network settings? Your mobile network setting should be on CDMA/LTE for you to connect to 4G LTE. Also are you checking for a data signal inside building or outside. Sometimes the buildings' construction will block or reduce your ability to connect to the 4G LTE network.
I only see two choices under Mobile Network- Network Type- 3G -95dBm and 1x -100dBm. There is no other option. I will check tomorrow when I know for sure I am in a 4G area (according to verizon map). Am I looking at the right place or is there another location to look on the phone?
