In my Opinion it Does it Less Because it is Synced to your Router and it's a Solid signal that does not have to Constantly Search For the Signal.. Were as when it's connected too the Net Work it is having to Constantly Connect an Re-Connect with the Towers or other Towers if your in a Large City. But as i said that's the Way i Run my Two Droids I got a Droid X had it For two years an i Got a Razr Maxx i got it in Feb. of this Year an Both of them are on the Wi-Fi when at Home.. b33

Alot of the debate goes back to signal strength. It seems to be the common consensus on the 'net that wifi will use less power if both signals were the same strength. It also comes down to your usage while you are there also, if you are using the data constantly, wifi will be better, but if your phone is not doing much, I have seen reports that your phones data radio will turn off after a while of non-use.

It also comes down to your data plane also, as compared to battery life. Do you have an unlimited data plan, or are you on the tiered plan? If you are on the tiered plan, then running wifi whenever possible will save you on your broadband usage.

Whatever you decide, do not run both of them at the same time. If you are going to run wifi, turn mobile data off. If you are using mobile data, turn the wifi off..
