Seriously, 8107 has been out for a while. You also missed putting out 7740.
VZW has one WP phone, the trophy. How hard is it to do your "testing" before you release it?
So, let's get on with it and get it out. Unless you really don't want the little fixes that both of these address fixed.
Maybe that is it, by not allowing the update, you drive people away from WP to either the Iphad or Maldroid.
That is not going to happen. What have you found that is causing you to delay? Really? Just let us know.
So like a previous discussion regarding more options for WP phones (and the Trophy is one of your highest rated phones),
please tell us when we can expect the 8107 update or just say NO, ok?
I wouldn't hold your breath, take a look at this article. http://www.wpcentral.com/carriers-able-block-windows-phone-software-updates-they-see-fit
I doubt that anyone of importance views these threads. Of all the posts in this community no one from VZW has chimed in. If you're on twitter send https://twitter.com/#!/VZWSUPPORT a tweet.
If not you'd get better results calling support once a week.
It would be very nice to have the 8107 update. I get the disappearing keyboard as much as 5 times in a row when trying to type a text message.
However 1 update per phone SEEMS to be verizon's way of operating. My wife has the Droid X and has only ever recieved 1 update for it in nearly 2 years.
Looks like we burned our 1 update in getting Mango.
Hello, Still waiting to hear from you Verizon. Maybe you don't want to release because you have a new phone for us. Unfortunately, I am not of those people who get a new phone when it is released. Maybe the Maldroids can, but not me. I would just like to know - Yes or No. Simple question with a simple answer - Will you be updating the Trophy to 8107?
I won't go into more questions like why not if "No". I love this phone OS and will wait it out. But I will want a WP8 in Feb '13 - So, I hope you are prepared for me.
Again - still waiting to hear from you. Thanks
I'm sick of Verizon throwing WP7 under the bus constantly. Here's an article I used to force upgrade, obviously do this at your own risk, but my keyboard no longer disappears randomly: http://www.wpcentral.com/force-updating-your-windows-phone-os-build-8107-tutorial
Thank you Verizon! Great to see that you are not leaving the WP7's behind. Were you planning this all along and now it is ready for release, or was it the feedback from reading the forums? Curious to find out so that we know how to help you come to the right conclusion in the future. This really is a great phone and OS. Look at the satisfaction ratings for it if you are still not sure about carrying on with more WP7/WP8 phones. I know you still feel jilted by the Kin, but this can be a new relationship.
Unfortunately the android trolls are right on the money here, nobody with decision making power pays attention to these forums. The 8107 update (which this appears to be) is already on the other carriers. I think Verizon finally had a spare android tester available to approve this for us. I'm sure he's already safely back on android updates now.
It's currently the top phone on "Best Sellers" and "Hot New Releases" on Amazon:
Amazingly, the Trophy has the top rated satisfaction slot, followed by two other Windows Phones:
Clearly, Windows Phone is doomed.
it should be. it's the newest device. i guarantee if it continues to sell like it is, over the long term (which is probably a few weeks for cell phones...lol), then other carriers will take notice. but first week sales aren't much of an indicator when i don't believe there is anything else new out there? (i could be wrong)
well here's everyone's opportunity. the lumina is only $100 and now they are giving you a $100 credit (thanks to nokia) so it's free. if you're serious about switching to get it, then i'd say right now is the best time. FREE brand new smartphones don't happen these days. they are basically leaving you some dough to pay your early termination fee. apparently it is an act of good faith by nokia for shipping out so many that had software/connectivity issues. if that's really the case, then bravo nokia. you know that even if/when other carriers get something comparable, it will likely be $150-$200. so you can wait and pay a couple hundred, or pay a couple hundred to break contract now and go get it for free.
And now 8107 is on my phone! and my wife's! OK, now Verizon, Can you let us know when the WP will see more options on VZW? I have an Unlimited Data Plan, so I won't be leaving for a Lumia at AT&T. But I won't be happy if VZW doesn't pick up this phone that is past the Beta testing of smartphones. If VZW can't do Nokia now, how about a Titan 2? VZW has plenty of HTC phones.
