Did you have insurance to use to get a replacement?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Yes, we have insurance, but it will cost almost $100 and we would only recieve another casio gzone commando. Why would we want another bad phone...

That is how insurance works. You don't get to choose whatever phone you want..You pay for a refurb of the device you had
Not sure why you said it is a bad phone though, maybe explain that part a little more and the forums can help you

Started in December with small crack, for no reason, then it spider webbed. Same thing happened to another friends phone. Maybe it is because it is 9,000 feet up and days of below freezing temps.
Now the earpiece doesn't work. Have to use speakerphone

You must not have seen original post. We do not want another gzone commando if the screen cracks for no reason. Friends phone did the same. We are at 9,000 feet and many days of below freezing temps. My previous HTC Droid never cracked. Battery life was very short

Screen doesn't crack for no reason. Makes me wonder if you had it in really tight jeans and bumped into something without realizing it. Had it in a coat pocket and when you turned the corner it hit a table. It could just be the case was too tight.

If so, why hasn't all the phones in the past not cracked? Why did his friends Casio gzone comman do phone start with a small crack and then spiderwebbed?
I think the Casio gzone can't handle the altitude and below freezing temperatures.
