I'm trying to update my apps on my iPhone 4S and I'm having a hard time. I click on the App Store icon then click update all then it asks me for my Apple ID password. I enter it and I get a message saying "Your password was entered incorrectly." I go to iTunes on my computer and enter the same password and it goes through. I called Apple and the representative said he didn't know why this was and that he couldn't really help me. Is anyone having this problem?? What am I supposed to do??
Try syncing thru your iPhone. If this fails turn your iPhone off for around 30 seconds. This is like performing a cold boot on a windows pc. It is the same with apple products. If all fails go to apple site and try to go to live chat, I find they are most helpful if you clearly explain your situation. They can things do with live chat verses customer support. I know that this sounds backwards but this is how some things happen to be. Are you using your wireless Internet to connect with your iPhone?
Just put the same SSID and password into your iPhone. When you turn on WiFi on your iPhone your SSID should be available to you. Select it and then put in your password. Tell iPhone to remember your network or you will have to do this every time. Ensure that your wireless network is secured with a strong password. This also depends on what type of router you presently have: B G N. B is the oldest, G is 54mbps, N can be up to 350mbps. There is a new protocol that is presently being ratified and is sort of expensive to get and or have.
If you are connected to your router via wireless all your settings are complete for your home network but you must complete this task on your iPhone. The iPhone 4S is capable of connecting to a wireless BGN network. This can be completed either way which saves you on your data with Verizon or any provider.
Try this, I could not sleep so I did a search. Do this on your 4S:
I was able to "solve" the problem. Every time one of these Apple IDs popped up I would delete the email addy in the field, put in mine, and put in my PW. Eventually this did the trick. I am not sure why, or why this was happening, but it's been 4
days now and I haven't had it happen again.
Go to your PC/Mac. Launch iTunes, when it finishes launching look at the left under file or edit and then look for preferences. If you find this, then check your settings. Sometimes redoing or double checking your settings will clear this up but remember to save your settings and do remember your last settings if this does not help. Sometimes stuff such as PC's/Mac's get what we call retarded or have brain farts just as we all do from time to time.
Ok, I am not at home but on my iPad. Click on preferences, there should be options available for you to choose from. The rest is sort of self explanatory. You can take it from there. Just do not get frustrated and take your time. Did or do you have iCloud installed? This syncs all your devices and takes fine tuning to complete thoroughly. ICloud depends on what type of computer you have. I have a windows pc as well as a mini Mac and I am in the process of switching to all apple. So I have to take a break sometimes.
No, I don't have iCloud installed. I was trying to get iCloud on my iPhone 4S and I had one hell of a time. I went to the local Verizon store and they said to enter my Apple ID and password so I did and got the same result as mentioned above. I called Apple and spent an hour on the phone with this girl who I think had no idea what she was doing. She had me change my password about five times and told me to try getting into iCloud. It didn't work so she called her supervisor or a specialist or something and he walked me through the process and told me what to do and it worked. Now I'm having a problem trying to get into the app store to update my apps and it wants me to enter my Apple ID password and it's saying that I entered it incorrectly when I know it's right. I called Apple again and the guy I spoke to said he didn't know why my password won't work on the iPhone4S but when I enter it in iTunes I can get through and he said he couldn't really do anything for me. He said I could update my apps on iTunes which I did while the iPhone4S was connected to my computer and yet it's showing the number two with the app store icon
Ok, this simple. Go to the apple website, scroll down and look for iCloud. Click on it to read about it and it should eventfully offer you a download link depending on what type of computer you have. You do need support for this but after downloading and installing create your account for iCloud. Remember everything and write it down for this the key. On your iPhone go to "APP STORE". Look at the top right and do a search for iCloud, this is where you must use your apple id password. Now it can take up to 24 hours for your new password to take affect. Just be patient, it normally takes up to 30 minutes now but it was bloody hell when apple release their new iOS. I had to wait three days to complete the upgrade! Complete the first task completely before doing this on your iPhone.
Then just wait for their severs to refresh. Sometimes when reset your passwords beyond their requested counts you can be locked for 24 hours or until it refreshes as a part of their security protocols for protecting your account. If it does completely lock you out, you must completely start over again. This is part of their policies for protecting you and their security as well. Sometimes technology can be a down right pain in butt, this is why apple is supposedly more safe and secure versus windows.
Try rebooting your computer or turning your computer off completely and wait for 30-60 seconds before restarting. As I stated earlier sometimes our computer's has a brain fart. It is also possible that your IP address is lost on the Internet. This can happen from time to time and it does not matter what kind of rig you presently have. Also sometimes your IP can be lost and you are completely cutoff from the Internet and this will be up to your provider to ping your IP address from their end. Your provider has your IP address on their private servers and a ping is the one way to retrieve your information and reatablish a connection. But this also involves that you must turn off your router for up to one minute to make the connection again. You should be on the telephone with your provider to complete this task and they should take and guide you thru this process. If this fails then they must do a remote ping on one of their hubs to find your IP address but this is mostly a last resort. I am sure that this not a part of your problems. I think that it has to do with resetting your password. If I do not reply to you in a timely manner this means I have gone to bed and I will try to help you sometime tomorrow. I am a early to bed, early to rise sort of fellow.
Thank you to belto for all of your suggestions! We need to get this issue fixed for you chrisallen3285! I know it's hard to operate an iPhone without being able to sign into the app store. Are you only having an issue logging into the App Store while on WIFI, or does it happen on 3G as well? You had mentioned previously that you checked the Apple ID log information on iTunes. Have you also gone to Settings>Store>Click on the Apple Id? There you can view the Apple ID that is entered into the phone. You can click sign out from there and start over. By doing this, you can make sure the Apple ID is entered correctly. Since you have changed your password several times, the issue may be with the ID. If that does not work, you may need to restore the phone. Make sure to back the iPhone up first. I will include a link with the steps for the restore.
I hope this helps! If you are still having problems, please feel free to DM me.

I'm having an issue logging into the App Store while on WIFI. I'm using a NETGEAR wireless router and I have my own network name. I'm not sure if it happens on 3G. When I try to log into the App Store on my iPhone 4S it asks for my Apple ID and password. When I enter the password it says that I entered it incorrectly which I know I didn't. When I do the same thing on iTunes it goes through and I have no problem signing in.
I tried your suggestion and went to Settings > Store > Sign In > Use Existing Apple ID
From there I typed in my Apple ID and when I entered my password it said "Your password was entered incorrectly"
Yet, when I go to iTunes on the computer I use the same Apple ID and password and I'm able to sign in
