I channged my phone number online today and now my phone won't work. I did what it prompted me to do. The number changed on my account phone's just not working. Any ideas what I can do to fix this??

hollywood28, we haven't heard back from you since your first posted so I'm thinking your phone must be operable at this point.
To the rest of the community, since this is a 4G device, once the number has been changed & confirmed, you will need to remove the battery for just a few seconds. Once the battery is back in the 4G device, you should be able to make a call out, access data etc. Since *228 doesn't work with 4G devices, we normally have the customer dial *86 to confirm if voice mailbox has been retained or if you, the customer will need to walk through activating the voicemail with the new number.
Depending on the device you use will depend on the steps needed to complete the transaction. If your phone is 3G device, please dial *228 and select option 1 to complete the activation process after the number change. If the phone is 4G, turn it off after the number change and remove the SIM Card. Place the SIM Card back in after 30 seconds and power the phone back on. Leave the phone on for three minutes and power off. Power back on right away and the new number will be programmed within five minutes. Keep us posted to verify this worked.

I was going to start a new thread but then I saw this one. Technical Support is not open right now, you WOULD think that something as important as Tech Support would be 24/7... Cox does it, and you for something as vital as your mobile phone I'd say it's just as important. Anyways, I changed my number. I wanted to do it at the store yesterday afternoon but the guy told me I needed to do it online for it to be free, otherwise it would be $15.00 if he did it. So, I'm like, that's fine, I'll do it online, for free. When the number change finally went through my phone now is not working and was having the same issues as the original poster. My phone is 4G and I did exactly what MariaC_VZW suggested: turning it off, removing SIM card, waiting 30 secs, putting SIM card back in, turn phone back on, leave the phone for 3 mins, turn phone off, turn phone on, and when I try to call it still gives me an error message when I call. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry to hear you are still having issues activating your device. The steps MariaC_VZW suggested: turning it off, removing SIM card, waiting 30 secs, putting SIM card back in, turning the phone back on, leaving the phone for 3 mins, turning the phone off, and then turning back on, are the correct steps to compete this process.
