My phone is currently part of a my family's Verizon plan, and I do not receive my own bill (it all goes to my parents on a "ONE-BILL" plan). Now that I've moved away from home, I want to pay my own phone bill and upgrade my phone to an Iphone (all while keeping my own phone number). Is it possible to move my phone number to its own separate Verizon account, and does it matter if I've moved out of the state my family is in?
You'll need to do an Assumption of Liability. Have the account owner call Verizon and authorize you to take over the line, then you will call and complete the process. Verizon will do a credit check, ask for a deposit if they feel it is neccessary, and then set up the account with your line. Your number and your contract status will remain the same. It doesn't matter that you've moved to a different state, and when you do the AoL, you can change your number to a local one if you want, or keep your current number.
