    line cancellation

    rgeier2
Hey everyone, sorry for this topic again... But I need to ask. So I'm a secondary line on a 5 line family plan.

1: how much does it cost to cancel just one (my) line?
2: how do I go about doing that?
Can I still use my number?

Anywhere from $0 to $350. To narrow it down, we need to know whether you are still on contract and how much time you have left. We also need to know what kind of phone you received when the current contract(if any) was signed on the line in question.

The primary account holder would have to call and have it cancelled.

No, because it would have been cancelled.

If you want to switch carriers, you wouldn't cancel your line. You would go to the other carrier and have the number ported if you want to continue using the number. When the number is ported, then the line will be cancelled on the previous carrier. The primary account holder would then be responsible for any ETF.

If you want to stay on the same carrier with the same number, just under your own account, you would do an assumption of liability for that line. No ETF for this.
