City ID

What exactly is City ID? there is not a description. AND everytime I end a call, it opens up. Quite annoying.

CITY ID is an enhanced Caller ID application that:

• automatically displays the city and state for every incoming and outgoing call,
• includes over 20,000 locations in North America and 200 country codes, 
• is preloaded onto the device, and  
• has reverse lookup feature: displays the city and state of a mobile device number.

Your can remove the CITY ID from your phone by using the instructions below:  

On your device please navigate to Media Center then Browse and Download. Highlight CITY ID and select Options and selectremove. This should remove the application popup. If the issue is unresolved after removing the application please contactCustomer Service at 800-922-0204 from a landline phone and have your device available. Our Customer Service is open 6:00am to 11:00 pm, daily.

This app can't be removed from the DROID 2 Global.  It is a pre-installed app.  Now if Verizon could let the user remove such applications from the device after a defined time period, many customers would raise their voices in JOY!!

So if you don't remove it, are not aware of it, after 15 or so uses, it automatically starts billing you for $1.99 a month?

I can confirm that City ID is an optional subscription. If you do not agree to the $1.99 subscription fee the trial will expire and no billing will occur. Please let me know if I can provide additional assistance.

Thank you!!!!  I have been annoyed by this constantly popping up, and had no idea how to get rid of it!  I appreciate the information you provided!
