cannot send picture text from iPhone to android phones

    cookm
I cannot send a text message with an attached photo to any Verizon Android phone users. I did a test: I sent the same picture to 4 people with a txt message. One to a Verizon LG env2 user, one to an AT&T iPhone user, and one to two separate Verizon Android users (one has the droid x, not sure on the other). The LG Env2 user received and could open my photo, the AT&T iPhone was the same, no problems. However, BOTH Android users, on the Verizon network, received my txt message, but when they click on the attached picture it shows only a blank screen, no photo. As a further test, the AT&T iPhone 4 user sent the same picture on to the Verizon Droid X user (after saving the photo to his own phone), and that picture was able to be opened by the Droid X user perfectly. He then sent a new photo he took right at the moment and that was received and opened perfectly as well. Why am I experiencing an incompatibility between the Verizon iPhone and Verizon Droid X, but no incompatibility between AT&T iPhone and Verizon Droid X when sending a picture attached to a txt message? I hope that all made sense. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for replying, I'm glad to hear that it does work at least for some people.  I just got a replacement iPhone (for a different reason entirely) and unfortunately the problem still exists.  When my friend on the droid receives a picture txt from me, all he gets is my txt message, and then an icon for an attachment (no image preview).  When he clicks it, all that happens is that a 5 second video (remember, I sent a photo) pops up of a blank screen.  I'm thinking the problem is on his end, but I have no idea where to go from here.  Any other thoughts?

not sure but maybe it could be the size of the picture you are sending, I know when i had a droid x it had to re-size everything. if you are taking the highest quality pics and sending them it may not be re-sizing them down. try taking a pic at lowest quality or something and sending it.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. Once a Droid X receives a picture message, the user sometimes will need to touch the blank box to download the picture. In this situation, the issue does appear to be on the Droid X. To narrow down the issue, we would ask your friend is does this happen just with pictures from you, all pictures, or some pictures from other numbers.  I would be happy to further troubleshoot with your friend.
Please have your friend send me a private message with his wireless number, contact number, and the best time to reach him.
                  Thank you,
                  GinaH_VZWSupport

Thanks for responding GinaH. My friend is PMing you regarding the issue. We found that if I send a picture it comes through as a 20 sec video, and the photo is embedded in it after about 10 seconds of blank screen. Very odd, and unfortunately pretty useless.

Next time you post and want a paragraph break, hold down the shift key when you hit "Enter".

                      Works for me.

I forgot to answer your question GinaH; my friend told me I am the first person this problem has ever happened with. As part of my original testing, he was able to open a photo from an AT&T iPhone 4 without a problem. It is only photos from me that he cannot open. I am also fairly sure this is not file size related, as this problem also happened with a ~75kb jpeg file I saved off the Internet and tried to send to him (and was also able to be opened by other people I sent it to.)

My entire family has this issue.  We did a *228 to update our phone.  Press 2 for the update.  Then we reset our phone by turning it off for 10-20 seconds.  After that, we tried to send another pic/text to a Droid.  It took a minute, but it sent it.  Now the text pictures go right away!  Hope this helps!
