Can't turn WiFi off...to use My Verizon

Hi

I am trying to use My Verizon but am getting an error that it is not compatible with WiFi (not sure why this might be of course) and it asks me turn off my WiFi.

Now f course when I try to do this it works...for a couple of seconds - then it comes right back on.

Is there anyway i can turn off my WiFi while at home?

From the home screen on the phone, go to Menu > Settings> Wireless & Networks > uncheck Wifi
