    Smartphone Compatible with Kia Sorento?

    MaxBuck

Hi, everyone.  I just bought the Samsung Fascinate (my old BlackBerry Tour lost its ability to tether - which I need frequently).  Bought the Fascinate as a replacement because no BB Bolds were in stock in Ohio.  The Fascinate is a terrific phone except that:

      1. Getting email is pretty hit-or-miss, and setting up my email accounts to reply using the proper servers has been pretty much impossible.
      2. The phone isn't compatible with the Bluetooth in my 2011 Kia Sorento, which is a Windows CE based system.
Because using Bluetooth in my car is essential, does anyone know whether any currently available Verizon smartphone will pair successfully (including transfer of all contacts) with the Kia Sorento with navigation?  I need to trade the Fascinate back in, unfortunately.

The Kia Sorento would require a Bluetooth Carkit accessory.

You would want to consult the owners manual  of the vehicle for information on the supported Bluetooth Profiles when selecting a Bluetooth accessory.

You can use the Bluetooth Carkit Compatibility Matrix at the link below to see what phones are compatible with what cars.

Copy and paste the link below into your browser address bar to access the Bluetooth Car Kit Compatibility Matrix.

Your reply is not helpful, since the OEM Bluetooth car kit for the Kia 2011 Sorento is confirmed as compatible with the original Droid, yet this compatibility is not shown on Verizon's chart for the Droid.  Unfortunately the original Droid is no longer available from Verizon.

Does anyone have a useful answer to my query?

For anyone's information who gives a hoot, the Samsung Fascinate appears to pair with the Kia Sorento as well as any other phone.  The keyboard on the car's NAV system gets bollixed up regardless of what phone you try to pair with it - a Kia software problem, apparently.  Limit of 200 phone numbers.

The Bluetooth Car Kit Compatibility Matrix would  refer you to the manufacturer if the device is not listed.

If you do not see a specific auto manufacture listed for the desired Verizon Wireless handset, please check with that auto manufacturer for compatibility information.

You can find  the Verizon Wireless phones Kia supports with Bluetooth at link below.

Copy and paste the link below into your browser address bar.

                http://www.kia.com/#/bluetooth/

You can search the phone models using the Cell Phone Compatibility by Vehicle tool.

The devices listed there are the only devices that have been tested.   Most newer model smarthphones will pair with  most cars but are untested.
