Traveling in China

I am going to China next week.  I know that I cannot use the phone there.  However, I would like to use some of the functions of my phone.  I want to use the camera, the alarm clock, games, etc.  I am afraid that I turn the thing on I will be accessing things that I will be charged for.  I currently have an unlimited data plan.  Can I access data in China without an additional charge?  Can I use anything over there?  Any help would be appreciated.

Yes you can use your phone in China. There are rates for calling while in China and data charges. You can visit our site   http://b2b.vzw.com/international/Global_Phone/index.html  to get more information on charges, and how the international roaming works.

Be sure to turn off data. If there is Wifi you can use that. But actually if you request international services to be turned on, there are parts of China you can use your phone. But you pay for it.

The Incredible is not one of the Global phones; however, to avoid any chance of getting charged for roaming put the phone into Airplane Mode (Settings>Wireless&networks>check airplane mode) then simply check Wi-Fi.  This will turn off your phone and data antennas and allow Wifi access when it's available.  I'm currently in Europe and this set up is working just fine for me.
