My Droid X will receive emails from my bellsouth accounts but it will not send emails. I set up a gmail account and it will send emails from that account. I have changed the bellsouth port from 25 to 465 to 110 and none of those will work. How do I get it to send an email from my bellsouth account.?

Try checking your outgoing settings. On your device go to Account; Email Account; on Menu page click on Edit settings make sure there are options clicked for outgoing settings.

I was on the phone with Verizon for 3 1/2 hours today and still cannot send emails from my Bellsouth or my aol accounts. I can only receive. And in the process, my phone contacts were lost. The guy gave me a credit on my bill, but what I wanted was for my phone to function as it is supposed to.
I don't know how long it has been since I was this angry and frustrated. Verizon told me that I could call AT&T for the solution, but there would be a charge.

Here are some settings that Motorola put out a while back... see if these help.

I did a screen shot of that when I found it on the Motorola website. I wanted it for my settings for my Charter email account, but when I was getting a lot of spam in that email, I decided not to keep that account on my phone.
The secret is to get the settings right. Getting the settings for receiving is easy, but for sending, a lot of the ISP's do not allow email to be sent through their servers if the person is not on their network. But most of them have made provisions using non standard ports for smartphones. A lot of people want to blame their phone, but if the settings are not correct, the phone can't do anything. It only knows the settings that have been set.
I am not saying that these settings are gospel, but Motorola did compile this list from information they got from each ISP. If the ISP has changed anything, these settings will not work, and you will need to contact the ISP customer service/support people to get the up to date settings.

Seems to me that your post with the Email Settings Per ISP Chart should be a Sticky Note here in the VZW Smartphone Forums.

6 weeks of efforts and not one email has been able to be sent from my Bellsouth account. I need to be able to send from Bellsouth...not Gmail. This has been going on for way to long with no resolution from Verizon or Motorola.
All they care about is selling phones and their $30 data plan.
May be time for a class action lawsuit.......
