Question is in the title: Can I port a number from a existing contract to a new one (and keep both contracts)?
I'll save like $300 a year if I can get added to a family plan - but my individual plan contract isn't over for another 3 months - so I want to keep it open and finish paying.
I'll call verizon in the morning, just hopeing to get a answer tonight.
Thanks in advance!
No, the contract is tied to the number, so you cannot port a number to a new provider or attach it to a new contract.
You can add your plan to the Family Plan without affecting your contract dates though. Just have the Family Plan owner with you and call in to CS to have them do an Assumption of Liability. They will take over responsibility for the line and can add it to their family plan. Your plan will change, but your contract date will remain the same.
