You should be able to sign into My Verizon to check on your usage.
And it all depends on your internet habits. Watching movies on Youtube and Hulu will use up more of your data than browsing a mainly text website.
Here's an article on the 5gig caps...
My husband and I were considering both getting Palm phones and using the Hotspot for our laptop's internet instead of paying for cable broadband at home. I'm now reading about this limited 5G on the Hotspot. Is there any way to figure out how much we currently use on our laptop? Is it likely we'd go over every month?
From my limited experience, a pop song downloaded is in 2-4 mb range; a movie is in 1-3 gb. Further googling would be helpful.
I really with VZW had a data usage estimator...
You mean like this one
thanks. had no idea that one existed.
How is your mobile hot spot speed? I found it to be much slower for Web browsing than my Road Runner service. I could not use that for my daily Internet needs (but I spend all day online).
I just set mine up. Before I was using LG VX8350 and Mobile Broadband Connect over bluetooth and got apx 500 kb/s. Which was fine for text. Just got the Palm Pixi in; set up mobile hot spot and checked in at 2.5 mb/s. So I think it works well. Ran a video fine with no buffering which is plenty good; downloading movies might be another story.
