I got an HTC Incredible last night (after 2.5 weeks of waiting for it, i might add) and after charging it, I tried to activate it, but was told I needed to ented my billing account passcode before it could complete the activation process. I do not recall ever making one, nor does my mom (the primary line/account holder). Any help on what this number may be, how i can find out what it is or how to change it would be appreciated. I'm REALLY anxious to activate this phone, haha.
Your Mom, the primary account holder/owner, would be the one with the billing passcode - last 4 of SSN? It's a 4 digit passcode, used to verify the account before making changes or releasing financial information. If they won't let you activate it, get your Mom on the phone as the account owner to verify by other means to get it activated.....
i tried the last 4 of her SSN and it didn't work. we both tried to think of what it could be last night and none of them worked. i tried calling verizon to get it reset, but before i could even talk to someone, it asked for the passcode to verify my account. so it's a veritable catch-22 at this point.
As I said above, have your MOM call Customer service, get the account passcode set (she can, as the account owner, they will verify her identity through other means) and then let you know what it is. If possible, have her go with you to a Verizon store with the new phone to get it activated.
