Does any one know how can i unlock Verizon cell phone, so it can be used with other carriers? I doubt Verizon will unlock their phones.I'd recommend going to a 3rd party company to try to unlock it.
my friend with T-mobile can call them and unlock the phone right away. Then that phone can be used with other carriers. CDMA phones are harder to unlock but it is possible to do. T-mobile runs on a GSM network. Unlocking GSM phones are easier.
I am not sure what is the process of unlocking with Verizon.
I have called Verizon. The first rep told me that i have to go to the store in order to unlock it.
I went to the store, the store said they have never heard "unlocking a phone". You should have asked flashing instead. Flashing is basically unlocking. Just another term.
Called Verizon again, a different rep. said
1. Verizon will NOT UNLOCK any phone.
2. my phone is not international phone (because the phone spec on his computer doesn't say it is an international phone), therefore, it can not be used in other countries anyway. In order to use the device on another cell provider, it must be compatbile.
well, that is weird. because, last time when i went back to China, after i told the Verzion that i want to make phone calls in China. That Verizon rep enable a feature for me on the same phone. so i can call US or China Local for $0.50 per min.
Now, this Verizon rep (the second rep) told me that my phone can not be used in other countries.
either i was hallucinating or he doesn't know a thing......lack of knowledge
So, is that true that Verizon does NOT UNLOCKING the phone when the contract is up?
What phone is this? Most of Verizon's phones are not locked at all anyways.
You do realize you are responding to a post from Feb 2010.
I must have unlocked the past for this customer then...
