Grew up in Hawaii, graduating from University of Hawaii with a BS in Administrative Recreation. My background was in aquatics, having lifeguarded and taught swimming leesons from the age of 15, also swimming competitively, and helping to coach the Pearl Harbor Swim Club. Got married and moved to Alabama, where I have recently retired after 34 years as Aquatics Director for the City. Involved managing a Water Park and five other City Pools. Raised three sons, and have four grandchildren.
