My screen went black and won't turn back on. The phone is working but you can't see anything on the screen.

Sounds like a hardware problem. I would suggest visiting the nearest Apple store and have it replaced.

Before visiting an Apple store (if you live near one) be certain to schedule an appointment. Some Apple stores will still see you without an appointment but the wait can be long. And with the battery replacement thing going on for older iPhones I've read lines are very long at Apple stores.

A blank screen on such a new phone is a concern to us, Cheryl2324. Ann154 and bd94s10 had a great idea to take your phone to Apple, and we also can help you from here. Had there been any damage to the screen around the time this started? Aside from being blank, does the screen appear to be responsive when touching it (i.e. triggering ?
