Worse Reception than iPhone 6s

Just recently got the iPhone X to replace my iPhone 6s and the X is getting 10x worse reception. I use to able to use my 6s at work with zero reception issues on data. My iphone X can't even send a text message. I've tried turning it off and on, airplane mode for a couple minutes, turning the cellular data off for a few minutes, nothing seems to help at all. Very frustrating that my two year old 6s has zero issues at work and my X which is brand new and well over $1,000 can't even maintain a 3G signal. Trying everything to figure out why this is but no fixes yet.

The data won't work for awhile and then out of nowhere it'll get bursts of texts/app notifications for a couple minutes then go back to having almost no reception.

I received my X last Friday. The first few days it wasn't too bad but the battery was worse than my 7Plus. This week my battery got worse than before and the phone was slow and taking long to download pages. This morning I recall pulling the sim on previous phones with problems. Try this......turn the phone off, remove the sim, turn the phone on, open some apps and dial a number. Of course it will tell you NO SIM. Then turn the phone off and put the sim back in. Power up the phone. So far this really helped mine. The phone is fast and opening pages quickly and so far I have 49 minutes of screen time with 95% battery left. And I'm in my office where the signal isn't really strong, so this is good. Try it, I hope this helps.

you sims card may be dirty, my iphone 6s was doing the dame thing, I took my phone to Verizon and they cleaned my sims card and it worked perfectly after that

That's a good idea too. My phone came with a new sim already in it so I figured it was fine.

I tried taking out the SIM card multiple times as you suggested, even trying to use a lens cleaning cloth and making sure it was spotless. Nothing has helped it at work. At home it seems to be fine but at work its legit unuseable. Phone support blamed the building but my 6s worked 100% and never had issues. So why is a 2x more expensive phone and 2 year older phone getting 100% less reception? Obviously the area has good reception and the phone is brand new. Is it defective? Is it something on Verizon's side that makes it just cycle through hardcore like that at my job

My two coworkers near me are both on AT&T and have iPhone X's and they get nonstop full bars with zero issues at our job.

We're disappointed to learn you're having device issues while at work, Jakyap. We want you to be able to enjoy your device and have great service no matter where you are. If you are only having issues in one location, we would want to narrow down on that location to see what's causing the issue. What's the zip code at work? Did you activate the phone with a new sim card or an existing sim card? What signal shows when you are at work?

60411. I activated it with the existing sim card that it came with. I've tried turning it off, taking it out, turning it on, turning it back off and putting it back in and turning it on as suggested above while at work to no effect.

My signal at work will literally just cycle. I can just sit and watch it go 3g -> LTE -> 1x -> LTE -> No Service -> 3g. Sometimes it will even hold what its showing like 3g or LTE but yet I can't send texts or load up any web pages. I had a coworker who didn't believe me it was cycling through just watch it. It's like its just trying over and over again to connect. The battery flys down lightning quick at work too as it does this all day.

Jakyap,

We appreciate those additional details. We know how frustrating fluctuating signal can be. With that said, indoor coverage can be tricky and cannot be guaranteed by any provider. Is this occurring indoors &/or outdoors? Is there anyone else at work seeing the same issues?

It's occurring indoors. Outside reception is really low compared to what it use to be on my iPhone 6s with Verizon, but it works outside. I understand that indoors can be tricky but what I don't understand and is frustrating me is that my two year old iPhone 6s that I just replaced that had the exact same Verizon service, would get 3-4 bar LTE nonstop inside where I work. So I don't understand how a brand new top of the market phone the very next day with no service or tower changes I go from 3-4 LTE on a 2 year old phone to brand new phone that literally can't even send a text. Clearly something is Very wrong. That or the iPhone X is junk and I need to return it for a phone that can actually get a signal.
