I recently bought a new phone directly from Apple. My old phone was traded-in and sent directly back to Apple. I did the entire set up and transfer myself without any assistance from any Verizon employees. Just what exacltly did Verizon do to EARN the $40 upgrade fee now showing on my bill?
I have two line service on a month to month contract.

Did it come with a SIM card? Or did you swap your old SIM card into the phone?

There’s your $40 ⤴️
If you buy a sim free phone you don’t pay a fee. Tip: tell them your prepaid customer. 😉

Knowing and understanding all charges is important. Here is a link for you: www.verizonwireless.com/support/upgrade-device-faqs/#upgrade-fee. I hope this helps. AlbertP_VZW
