Will the transfer content app transfer text messages from my iphone 6 to a new iphone 8?

That's certainly good information to know. The content transfer app will not transfer text messages on an iPhone device. This is because Apple has its own Message service (iMessage) that does not work with that app. The app will transfer pictures, videos, device contacts and calendars. Apps, music, call logs, documents and texts however should be transfered via an iCloud back/restore process. http://apple.co/1IfthtF (backup) and https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht204184 (restore). Please note that iCloud/iTunes does backup all of the content on an iPhone when that content is selected/enabled on for backup.
