Hello. I bought an unlocked iphone 7 at retail price $649. I tried to activate it with my international sim (im abroad) but it says i require a verizon sim to use to acivate it. Is that regular?

Are you trying to activate it with your Verizon number? If so, you need to be able to connect to the Verizon network which means you but be in the USA.
It should be activate with a SIM from where the country you are in and then when you return to the USA you can pop your Verizon SIM in the phone.
