My iPhone 7 cable has not been working for about a month now. It says this accessory is not supported by this iPhone. I am using the cable that came with the phone and do not understand why it's not working. My dog chewed up my wireless one so I am stuck with the cable one and it only works for a few minutes before it stops. Please help me. I am using the current update and the update did not help it.

Sheri490,
I wouldn't be puzzled if my phone wasn't working with the original cable. I'm sorry to hear about your wireless headphones that got chewed up by your dog. Not to worry, I'll be happy to help. What happens if you try that cable with another iPhone? Have you tried a different cable with your iPhone?

I have tried three different cables and three different connectors, they all have music for about a minute and then give me an error message. It says, this accessory is not supported by this iPhone.
I tried contacting customer support via chat and they had me run a diagnostic, it was running diagnostics for an hour and 45 minutes before I got a little frustrated and ended the session. I would like to know if she found any results?

Sheri490, having a cable that works is important. I have received that error message when using a non Apple branded cable but not with the one that came with the phone. I would like to clarify a few things. You mentioned you have used three different connectors, are you referring to the base piece that plugs into the wall? Also you stated they all have music for about a minute, can you please provide details on this?

I have used other non-Apple cables and connected my earphones up and they worked just fine. But for some reason with these last two updates, even when I am using the Apple approved cord with the Apple headphones, the music will play for about a minute and a half and then stop and give me the error message.

I would suggest downloading the Apple Store App and making an appt with Apple. I've seen this before but only with 3rd party accessories. Strange it is happening with the factory apple Lightning cable EarPods. It could be the port. They are going to suggest you do a factory reset first... I'd backup everything... reset to factory.. see if it works first.. if your able to.. I doubt this will help but just a suggestion. Apple will test it though for you. They can repair the device in-store or sometimes swap out the device.
