Verizon iPhone Trade In

On 10/31/14 "Dan" from Verizon called me to tell me I could trade in my iphone 4 for $200 if I order the iphone 6 and move from my unlimited data plan to the MORE Everything Plan.  On 11/3 another Verizon rep called me and we initiated the order.  I received the iphone 6 yesterday, 11/11.  Now I understand the $200 trade in ended in mid October and Verizon is not standing behind their sales respresentatives' pitch (lies).  I am a long time Verizon customer and find this atrocious behavior DISTURBING --- to the point that I want to return my new phone and all the accessories to Verizon AT NO EXPENSE TO ME and return to my unlimited data plan.  How do I accomplish this?

you have 14 days to return a phone and get unlimted data back.   there will be a restocking fee of 35 dollars for returning the phone.   as long as you ordered your phone and submitted the trade in form before the 15th of october you still get your 200 dollar trrade in?   phones dont have to be in till december first

Thanks, zellerandy.  Frankly, had I known about the trade in offer by the 15th of October, I could have made a commitment.  But to be told about the offer AFTER is has expired?????

Do I simply return it all to the address on the box???

if you got a return label.  make sure it is correct label.   you can go to your accoutn and print it off.   i would try custoemr service first.   explain to them what happened.  if you get correct rep and good sup they will credit the 200 dollars to your bill

Thanks, I'll definitely contact cust support.  I'll need my old phone reactivated anyway.

I appreciate your feedback, zellerandy!  Have a great day!

Susan you should get authorization before returning under the 14 day policy. Don't let the new phone get lost in the process. Since the offer was made to you may get an offer equal to the expired promotion and be able to keep your new phone. If you do return your new phone and want to get the unlimited data plan back make certain that happens - it's not something readily available to a sales associate to do. Document every interaction with Verizon, date, time, name etc.

I really like my iPhone 6.  I hope Verizon can make things right with you so you can keep it!

Thanks for the solid advice, OptionsTrader.  I will definitely heed it!

Didn't get anywhere with my customer service call since they could not document that my offer came from a Verizon representative (said it was probably a 3rd party -- all the same to me).  But will do more research, call back and go for supervisor because ultimately, I'd like to keep the 6 as well as not tarnish my viewpoint on Verizon.  In any case, will post final result for others who are going through this to see along with your sage advice.  Again, thank you!
