Iphone 6s - locked by IMEI
FedericoARG1971

I have an iphone 6s bought Oct2016 in US (new brand, unlocked) which has been working well until a couple of days ago when I had to change the operator. The phone has been in used in Argentina.

After inserting a new sim (different operator) the device is not able to be activated.

I tried everything (restoring, changing appleid, turning off find my phone, erasing the phone in icloud/appleid, etc.)without success. I finally decided to run a simdoctor test and I received a report saying that Verizon Wireless reported the phone in a blacklist as stolen in Nov-2016. I really appreciate your help to unlocked the mobile phone.

Federico

PS: I can provide doctorsim report and purchase ticket if necessary.

FredericoARG1971, we understand wanting to be able to continue using your device, and we'd like to help. To clarify, when you got the device, was it puchased directly from us or a 3rd party?

Thanks for your answer. I bought the device in a store in Orlando. The purchase ticket says: "Wireless Outlet, 8200 Vineland Ave., Orlando Florida.".

Thanks for the store information, FedericoARG1971. I have checked my resources and I can confirm that we do not have a Verizon Wireless store at that address. You must have purchased the device from an indirect store. While our 4G devices are unlocked (please confirm at this link: https://www.verizon.com/about/consumer-safety/device-unlocking-policy) we can only guarantee activation, service, and compatibility when you connect your device to our Verizon Wireless network in the United States. We do not have any tools or resources to assist you if your phone is not active on a Verizon Wireless account in the United States. I apologize for any inconvenience this information may cause you.

Hi Antonio

Can I send you the IMEI and purchase ticket to check what you can do?

Verizon Wireless denounced the phone as lost and it is the only operator

which can release the ban.

Thanks!

Hi FedericoARG1971, in reading this post, I also can confirm that there is no Verizon store at the address you posted.

In October I called Verizon to report a stolen iPhone that retailed for $1000. The Verizon girl I spoke with asked for all the numbers from the original box the iPhone came in. It was a nice conversation, she was very pleasant and funny. But to get to the point, when she was done with the iPhone it was wiped out. Verizon is very strict when it comes to iPhones and their customers. Where it's showing as blacklisted chances are none to get it working.

Many thanks Salisbury. It is a pity. The phone was working without issues

since Oct 2016 until I changed the sim. I always used argentinean sim and I

do not understand why is locked by Verizon Wireless. I have the original

purchase ticket that has printed the IMEI and was sold as a free phone. I

paid USD 788 (including a case) and now I have a very nice ipod...

Hi FedericoARG1971, it's unfortunate and will be very tough to get that iPhone working. Especially where Verizon blacklisted it. Apparently someone reported it stolen. Not only is Verizon very thorough, but Apple is as well. It has to be considered that when it was reported stolen, then that person certainly had a iCloud account with Apple. The original Apple ID & Password would be required to reactivate the device with Apple.
