Hello,
iPhone 6 died completely & unexpectedly. Verizon sent replacement phone, now in-hand. Supposed to return old phone, and all instructions say to wipe data first. How? Phone is dead & shows no signs of life, for me or store employees. Can't turn on or power or anything related to life.
Please advise, have to send phone back within 5 days.

I'll add that you'll still be expected to disable Find My iPhone if that was enabled. Fortunately, if it was, you can disable it without the phone. Again, this is only needed if you had enabled Find My iPhone in the phone's settings, or during initial setup.
You can log into icloud at http://www.icloud.com/#find and sign in with the Apple ID you were using on the phone, then click "All Devices" at the top. If your iPhone isn't listed that, it wasn't enabled, so no worries. But if your phone is listed there, select it, then select "Erase iPhone," then "Remove from Account." That will disable the Find my iPhone that they'll require be disabled for warranty/insurance replacements. This only sends a request to the phone to erase itself if it ever connects to the network again, it won't erase any iCloud backups you've made.
