I just received my iPhone 6 Plus--latest upgrades, etc. I live in a very rural area and I frequently and am in the Verizon and AT&T coverage areas.
How can I place a call to phones in the AT&T coverage areas? I may get four - five bars' worth signal strength, but I cannot get a successful dial-out. My previous iPhone, a 5c, had no problem. I have tried all the routines I know, such as powering on/off, cell off/on, etc.

You may want to make sure you have roaming on. Its Settings>Cellular>Roaming
If that doesn't work, try going to settings>general>reset>reset network settings.
Hope it helps!
