budone, you are incorrect as well, Apple has not yet even Announced the IPhone 5, and I find 09/21/2012 very unlikey as those of us testing Apple IOS 6.0 still are only at Beta 4 right now, and there usually are at least 6 Beta's before IOS Gold Master, and there are sometimes even 7 Beta's before Gold Master! Unless Apple releases Iphone 5 with Apple IOS 5.1.1 or something else 5.X, that is simply NOT possible as IOS 6.0 is NOT yet ready for Prime Time! Just FYI!

P.S. The Announcement regarding IOS 6.0 say its coming sometime this Fall Budone and mm811. It does NOT say the very first day of Fall, and should NOT be interpreted that way! Just FYI.

kakari12, I am actually helping Apple test IOS 6.0 and we are still only on Beta 4 out of 6 or 7 Total Beta's (for a Major IOS Release, otherwise we have 2 or 3 for a Minor Release), and I currently have 7 Bug Reports Open for IOS 6.0 and so far no Action by Apple Engineering has been taken on them, so I would say givin the fact that IOS 6.0 is still NOT going to be ready until Late October (just in Time for Halloween) we are looking at a Late October Release for the IPhone 5 as well. Just FYI.

I still expect the announcement on the 12th and a release a few days later. It can be released with iOS5

It would have to be Released with IOS 5 if that were the case as one of worst parts of IOS 6 Beta 4 is alof the Misnamed Streets in Apple's New Maps Progam, for Example I live on a street called Whitehall Lane and Apple Maps Program in IOS 6.0 calls it Princeton Road! This is just one of the many Regressions in Apple IOS 6.0 Beta 4 as the Google Maps Program in Apple IOS 5.1.1 did NOT have these kinds of problems. Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 DON'T WORK as well.

Best to say... Tall tell sign is when the beta becomes a GM. Usually within a month from GM it will be released.
