transfer one line in a family plan to a different provider

I have 2 phones on a family plan.  I would like to leave the primary but move the second phone to Google Fi.  Is there anything I need to do with my account on the Verizon side to facilitate this?  Or is it as simple as setting up with Google Fi and using the same number to start service there.  I am all payed up, account is good, no contract, and again - I am leaving my primary phone with Verizon.

Hello, angbiogirl! We know it is important to have all this information before making any changes to your account. While we are sad to see you are taking one line out of the Verizon family, we are here to provide you the correct information. You can simply port over your line to Google Fi. They will ask for your Verizon account number, which you can find on your billing statements. You will also need to know your Verizon PIN. They will do all the work and your line with us will be disconnected automatically at the end of the billing cycle. Does this make sense?

Verizon doesn't use pins anymore for transfers. You have to get a transfer pin generated and this can only be done by an authorized user.

That is a great question. The PIN is a 4-digit code that you would have created when you started service. If you have since forgotten your PIN, then you can use this link: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/account-pin-faqs/#forget/ to reset it.  JordanL_VZW

You have to get a special Transfer Pin from the Verizon web site
