I just switched to iphone5 from a basic feature phone on the 5th. My monthly usage cycle ends on 10th. How would I be charged for billing? Do I need to pay my data plan for November 10 to December 10? Does my monthly data allowance end on 10th even though I barely used 30mb yet, since I just activated my phone? Thanks
Your data plan for the current billing cycle (Nov 10 - Dec 10) should be prorated for the 5 days it is active. This should result in you only being charged $5 (assuming you choose the $30/2GB data package) and having an allowance of approximately 333MB (1/6th of 2GB) for those 5 days. Your data allowance will then reset when your next billing cycle begins.
Be aware, your next (Dec) bill will also include the next months (Dec - Jan) full data charge in advance. This is standard practice and nothing unusual.
