I have a feeling, and it makes 100% sense to me, and probably not for other people.
iPhones for AT&T will always be June/July, and iPhones for Verizon will be Jan/Feb. If they release them out at the same time it would cause a lot of stress on their servers and cause complications. If we do get the iPhone 5 I am wouldn't be hard pressed it'll be next year around this time.
So I will get the 4 and wait for the 5 next year. If the 5 for Verizon comes this year I will wait for the 6. If people looked there is only a major revamp every 2 years.
iPhone - start
iPhone 3G - new look same internals of the original + 3G.
iPhone 3GS - Same look 2 added features worth a dang.
iPhone 4 - Complete overhaul.
iPhone 5 - feel it'll be the same as iPhone 4 with a few tweaks.
You already know the answer about Verizon being more money hungry. They are there to make money and LOTS of it. I've contacted FCC many times regarding their practices..................the biggest one of course is charging $30.00 extra for a Smartphone and then THEY use up half with their downloads and upgrades. And what is left of the GBs for you?
