Hello JOHBRY5,

We definitely want to get your iPhone 5 in perfect working order. Are you attempting to download the update using your WiFi or by having your phone connected to your computer? What exactly is your phone showing?

Thank you. This may be connectivity trouble, JOHBRY5. In addition to restarting your home wifi router and mode, we suggest resesting the network settings as described here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204051
Let's us know how this works out.
