I think the commercial is hilarious BUT I also think that any fan of any phone that would act as those do in that commercial are funny. Just because you like the iPhone and choose to get it doesn't make you a sheep and those people in the commercial that are willing to stand in line for days don't represent all iPhone users. Actually, I find those that go out of their way to demean  those that enjoy any product that they themselves have such disdain for are equally amusing. Ultimately, none of these phones are "the  best" because "the best" doesn't exist. For every great phone that is released it's "better" follow-up is already deep in the production phase. So technically, if you're a techie of any sort then you are a sheep to technology...you will follow it and never actually stop and appreciate the great thing you already have...because you're always looking for the next best thing...and ready to declare that the "greatest" you just bought is obsolete because the the new "greatest" is on the horizon. It's a rat race that never ends...yet you have those that don't seem to realize that they are in no position to talk about what others deem to be great or what they personally are happy with....because they themselves are never satisfied for too long. Food for thought that I'm sure won't be savored because savoring means admitting the truth lol. And before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, this wasn't targeted at anyone specifically. BUT...if you get offended about it then chances are it hit the nail on the head.

Those are good points kaebfly - but to me the "sheeple" tag meant those that will always go with a particular device purely because of the nameplate with no regard for functionality...just as the Sammy commercial states very humorously - "Oh we're going to get that too - maybe not this time around but next time for sure..."

I have never and would never wait in line for hours for any device especially just for bragging rights.  I think most of us that are "into" smartphones have had many different ones, that's what makes us not "sheeple".
I've currently got a Maxx but have had Samsung, HTC, LG(ugh)and the old OG PPC-6700.(does anyone remember who made that? I can't nor can I find the phone...)

It's about making a choice vs. having the choice made for you.

I have never and would never wait in line for hours for any device especially just for bragging rights.  I think most of us that are "into" smartphones have had many different ones, that's what makes us not "sheeple".  I also don't understand the 'have to have' mentality of a purchaser who hasn't researched the phone, knows its strengths/weaknesses, etc. ... they just buy it for, as you say, apparently the bragging rights, then have no idea what the phone will/won't do, how it works, etc.   And that happens with several phones (iPhone, Galaxy S3 come to mind).

UT/StarCom! That's the one I think. As I remember it, there wasn't a brand tag anywhere. I sure liked that gigantic underpowered thing though!
