So I got an 4S and I'm not eligible for upgrade until next year, and when I tried to preorder it on Apple it wouldn't let me and verizon either. Can I still get one? If yes how? I saw people were adding another line but I don't want to pay for two lines or two separate contracts.
anyone any idea on how to do it?

Full retail price is an option.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Hello saber87ffo! You will need to pay the full retail price to purchase the iPhone 5, if you're not eligible to upgrade.

On the Apple site, you go to pre-order, choose the color, then 16, 32 or 64 and then Verizon as your carrier. When you hit continue you get a page similar to the one below. Choose Replace. Then you will need to enter your account info for verification. Once it verifies, the price will change to full retail price.
That's the way I did it on Friday. Worked fine.
