I broke my iPhone 5s a week ago, so I called *228 to put my number on an old iPhone 4 that my friend had so that I had a phone to use while I waited for my new one to come. My new phone is here and i have all my contacts on it as well as my apps, but it won't send text messages or make calls. I can't even call *228. I was wondering what I need to do so that this new phone is associated with my number again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Restart the phone by holding down the top/power button and the Home button at the same time until the device restarts.
Log on to your My Verizon account and select "Activate Device".

Did you take your SIM card out of the broken iPhone 5s and insert it in the new phone?
Note that *228 does not work with 4G/LTE phones. They are activated with the SIM card.

I did that and it is now saying my number is just not activated. Any further advice?
