I just got the 5c today and she transferred my contacts, but they are by the last name or name with cell behind it. They were all ABC order by first name on my old phone and it wasn't a "smart phone." I can't make heads or tails out of this mess. Basically there are a bunch that have first name and cell behind it, but all these names are under the "C". I will never find my contacts this way. How can I correct this and why couldn't it be transferred exactly like my old phone?
Thank you

Settings-mail,contacts & calendars-contacts-(sort order-display order)
All of which is in the owners manual on the device under Safari, bookmarks, owners manual or online from http://www.apple.com under support.
The problem is the so called transfer at the stores are not 100% accurate. However if you had a apple device previously the contacts can be save to icloud for easy retrieving. And if you came from an android device you may download the GMail app and your contacts will sync after it is installed on your device. However many times the sync will add as duplicates on the iPhone.
Good Luck
