Hello. I am brand new to Verizon and bought the Razr M. Nice phone but has 2 major issues for me: the camera and the annoying Google Now that keeps popping up when I'm typing a text.
I am considering going to the iphone and was told they have extended return policy for the holidays.
My questions are: What are the differences in insurance deductables between iphone and droid? Will monthly insurance cost be increased? And are there other hidden costs I should be aware of?
Thank you for helping!
Happy Holidays!

insurance goes up $3/month, the deductible goes from $99 to either $169 or $199 depending on iphone model (16gb and smaller is $169, 32gb and larger is $199). They also charge a $35 restocking fee on an exchange.
You may or may not be aware of these, but you'll have a $35 activation fee on your first month's bill as well, in addition to 1-30 days of service PLUS the month in advance (normal bills are *only* the month in advance). How many days of service depends on when you began service and when your first bill ends.

I would have to pay a second activation fee?

Your activation fee is billed on your first month's bill. Anything you paid in-store was for your phone and accessories, and possibly any store processing fees if purchased through an authorized retailer.

Understood, however, will I be charged a second activation fee if I exchange phones?
And so my $6.99 a month insurance would change to $9.99?
Thank you for your help Jax.

You would be charged a restocking fee (usually $35) on an exchange, this occurs immediately upon exchanging. And yes, $6.99 goes to $9.99.

Boy, nothing is easy about this process...or cheap. Wish I had known better.
And what a drag the insurance costs more!

Personally, do you think I should stick with the Razr M?
It's a good phone, but that Google Now nonsense keeps popping up while I'm texting! lol

Personally, I loathe the lack of control that users get in the Apple ecosystem. I also loathe the increased costs for accessories, insurance, and apps relative to Android.
If Google Now is annoying you, go into it and disable it, that was the first thing I did on my phone when I put android 4.1 on it
You mentioned an issue with the camera too, what problem are you having with the camera?
