dandzski - Being able to use your unlocked device is a must. The iphone 5c is a global 4G capable device. The Sim lock does not apply to any Verizon Wireless 4G LTE devices with global capabilities.

Maybe I don't understand what "unlock" really means . If it is unlocked, does that allow the user to, for example, but a SIM card from another carrier and continue to use the iPhone 5c? Can a user switch back and forth between carriers simply by inserting the carrier's SIM card? Thanks

Does that mean that I can purchase a SIM card from another carrier and use the iPhone on that network?
Can one simply switch between carriers by inserting the proper SIM card?
Not sure I fully understand what "unlock" means...
Thanks

We want to clear up any confusion, Dandzski! With the being unlocked, it would be able to be used with any other compatible SIM card/wireless service.

Unlock generally means the phone is not locked to a single carrier. As long as the other carrier supports the frequencies available on your 5c, you can stick another SIM in and it will work. Verizon phones are not carrier locked.
